Physical Education Class
The Health and Physical Education course is REQUIRED for graduation. The Physical Education section covers aspects of conditioning, fitness testing and game and sports skills. This class lasts for one semester (18 weeks) and is divided into four and a half-week, alternating increments. For example, during the first nine weeks, our class will have Health the first four and a half weeks and Physical Education for the second four and a half weeks. At that time, students will receive a report card for their first 9 weeks of classes. At the beginning of the second nine weeks, the process begins again.
Physical Education uniforms are not sold to students. HOWEVER, students are required to dress out in gym attire while in the Physical Education portion of the class. Acceptable gym attire includes shorts, t-shirts, sweat shirts, sweat pants, wind suits and tennis shoes. These articles of clothing must be in compliance with the A.L. Brown dress code meaning they should fit properly and not hang off or be skin-tight to the body. They are not to be worn in any other classes except Physical Education class, including the cafeteria.
